This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day field operations of the assigned field team. Responsibilities include managing and scheduling equipment required for the project, ensuring scope of work gets completed as per the Project Manager or the Forestry Supervisors direction, through supervising and leading field operations, while mentoring and training field staff.

Accountabilities:

  • Ensure that all Safety policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager and or Forestry Supervisor team(s) to ensure that the project scope of work is accurate before work commences.
  • Order and schedule delivery of all equipment needed for the project.
  • Be the main point of communication between the field and office teams.
  • Manage the work schedule and time for field staff with support of the Forestry Supervisor or Project Manager.
  • Review project progress to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ensure scope of work gets completed accurately and according to budget.
  • Provide leadership to onsite staff, subcontractors and other parties.
  • Ability to work in different environmental conditions.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Environmental education with ability to register with the Forest Professionals of BC (FPBC) preferred.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager and or Forestry Supervisor team(s) to ensure that the project scope of work is accurate before work commences.

Job Requirements:

  • Provides expertise in developing, , monitoring and updating database information for tenure management, appraisal submission, and silviculture declarations in various Company and government databases and reporting systems.
  • Submits various plans and progress reports to Woodlands Supervisors and others to meet legislative obligations or internal performance, planning and reporting requirements.
  • Maintains accurate records and data necessary for purposes of demonstrating due diligence and as required by the Environmental Management System, or other relevant certification schemes.
  • Supports Woodlands Supervisor and others during audits or reviews that fall within the scope of this position’s responsibility.
  • Build Indigenous cultural awareness including completion of any required training.
  • Adhere to data standards by understanding how to collect, enter and manage data to ensure it is accurate, complete and timely.
  • Conduct work activities in accordance with sound health and safety practices set out by the Company safety program and applicable legislation and promote these practices with co-workers.
  • Ensure all job-related documentation, legal or otherwise, is complete and recorded.

Job Requirements:

  • Environmental education with ability to register with the Forest Professionals of BC (FPBC) preferred.
  • Willingness to work in various locations throughout BC for shifts.
  • 2-5 years experience in the forest industry
  • Ability to work independently in the outdoors
  • Positive attitude, highly organized, eagerness to learn, and a team player.
  • Basic outdoor skills and general fitness.
  • Willingness to work in remote locations in adverse weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work 8-12 hours/day (including over-time pay).
  • Willingness to work extended shifts and stay out-of-town for work.
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
  • Valid BC driver’s license and provide a drivers abstract.

 Compensation:

$28-$33 per hour
