In 2017, Pembina Pipeline Corporation and CCI Inc were awarded Project of the Year for the Athabasca River Parallel HDD Installations Project.

Design criteria recommended by current industry-wide standards model imposed stresses and allowable limits during pipeline installation via horizontal directional drilling (HDD) Analysis from recent installations are discussed which illustrate current modeling methods in comparison to actual measured strain data produced by the CCI Strain Measurement Tool.

TransCanada Corporation (TransCanada) proposed the design and construction of the new Northern Courier Pipeline Project (NCP). The NCP included seven large watercourse crossings, each over 700 m in length. The largest crossing identified was the Athabasca River, located north of Fort Mackay, Alberta.

In 2016 TransCanada Corporation, CCI Inc., and Michels Canada were awarded Project of the year for the Northern Courier Pipeline Project.
